CulturaThe 5 Best Stoner Movies of All Time

One of the best plans for a night in is Netflix & Chill with your mates. We already told you How to Create the Perfect Atmosphere Smoking Joints With Your Mates; today we are recommending five stoner movies that every fan of the culture should know.

Before you pick the film, make sure your kit is ready: lighter, grinder, rolling papers, tips and rolling tray. Getting up halfway through the film because something is missing is the worst.

A selection of stoner movies

1. Ali G Indahouse

First one on the list. We love Sacha Baron Cohen in every single one of his crazy roles.

It is the most famous film in this genre and it defined an era, style very much included.

2. How High

How High is another gem of stoner cinema.

It was massive because it was the first time two rappers played the leads in this kind of film. If you have not seen it, do not miss Method Man and Redman, from Wu-Tang Clan, causing chaos all over Harvard.

The premise: they scatter a dead friend's ashes over a plant and, once they smoke it, their mate comes back from the other side to feed them the answers to their exams.

3. Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle

Another modern classic, from 2004, that you have definitely heard of. Kumar and Harold are one of the most legendary duos in American stoner cinema.

There are two films in the saga, and in both of them they basically spend the entire running time trying to go and get burgers. Something that looks easy turns into a completely wild story.

4. Dude, Where's My Car?

The best known one of the selection. You have probably seen it already; if you have not, lucky you.

Ashton Kutcher shot to fame with this ridiculous film in which they go looking for their car after a wild night out. It has some very special nods to nineties culture.

5. Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood

The hidden gem of the selection. It follows a young guy who moves back to his father's place after spending almost his whole life with his mother.

Back in the neighbourhood he runs into his cousin Loc Dog and his friends, and together they spread panic all over the hood.

For a movie marathon without passing out

If you are going to line up two or three, a bit of veteran advice: by the end of the second one you have no clue what is going on.

Plenty of people start the session strong and finish it with CBD flowers, which roll exactly the same but are not psychoactive. That way you make it to the end of the trilogy still knowing who is who.
