If you spend the day smoking bombers, you will have noticed how your tolerance goes up: it takes more and more to feel the effect, your monthly weed spend climbs and the frustration climbs with it. You have trained so hard that joints no longer hit the same. Follow these tips and get back to living your highs with the intensity of the old days.

1. Pick the right strain

Choosing the right strain is one of the most important tips. Sativas make you want to get moving, while indicas give you a sleepy, laid back feeling. Getting stuck to the sofa when you smoke the same strain over and over is real: the best thing is to keep trying different ones until you land on exactly the one you are after.

2. Move on to THC in other formats

Maybe a joint no longer gives you that rush, but switching format changes everything. From edibles to hash or extractions, the ways to consume weed are endless. If you want an easy way to get properly stoned, brew an infusion with whole milk and a couple of buds, and enjoy the trip with no combustion.

3. Eat real food

Let us not kid ourselves: your body is your vehicle and you have to give it the best fuel; munchies should not go beyond 20% of your diet. Building your diet on real, varied food is key for your health and for taking in THC in all its glory. On top of that, there are foods such as dark chocolate, mango, broccoli or walnuts that are said to act as boosters: they synthesise endocannabinoids and their receptors efficiently, and send the high sky high.

4. Work out at least 3 times a week

The upsides of exercise are countless: you will feel happier, you strengthen muscle and bone and you gain energy. But there is an extra reason for the stoner: body fat is where THC is absorbed and stored, and if it is released slowly, the quality of the high drops. A good meal plan and a workout routine 3 or 4 times a week bring your total fat down: you will be fitter, in a better mood and, above all, higher thanks to a lower body fat percentage.

5. Take a break and bring your tolerance down

If you tried everything above and you still do not feel that sharp high, maybe it is time to give yourself a breather. The plant can brighten up our lives in a thousand ways, but it does not fix an emotional problem (sometimes it even makes it bigger), so be honest with yourself about your use over the last few months. Start by trying one day without smoking and, if you are feeling strong, set yourself a couple of weeks or even months off. The longer you stretch the pause, the harder joints will hit again, the more you will enjoy them and the less money you will spend. It is estimated that it takes around a month for cannabinoids to leave the body.
