Full Spectrum CBD Oils: What They Are and How to Pick the Concentration

What is full spectrum? What changes between 10% and 40%? We explain how to choose your CBD oil without getting lost.

CBDFull Spectrum CBD Oils: What They Are and How to Pick the Concentration

CBD oils are the most discreet way to have CBD on hand: no smoke, no rolling and no smell. But when you see 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%, and on top of that the words “full spectrum”, it is normal to be left scratching your head. Let us clear it up.

What a full spectrum CBD oil is

It is a hemp extract dissolved in a carrier oil. Full spectrum means it carries the whole natural profile of the plant (CBD, other minor cannabinoids and the terpenes), not just isolated CBD, always with THC below the legal limit. Compared with isolate (CBD only) or broad spectrum (no THC), full spectrum keeps the complete character of the hemp.

What the percentage means

The percentage is how much CBD the bottle carries relative to the total. The higher the percentage, the more CBD in the same amount of oil: a 40% concentrates four times as much CBD as a 10% in the same bottle. It is not that one is “better” than another; it is how much CBD there is inside. Our four bottles are 10 ml, so that is the whole difference between them.

Format and packaging

All four come in 10 ml glass bottles with a graduated dropper in the cap. Keep them somewhere cool and out of direct light. We do not attribute any properties to them: we tell you the format and the concentration, and we leave it there.

How to choose the concentration

If you are starting out: the 10% is the entry concentration, around 1,000 mg of CBD per bottle.

If you want more content: the 20% and the 30% carry around 2,000 and 3,000 mg per bottle, without changing the format.

If you want the maximum: the 40% is the most concentrated, around 4,000 mg per bottle, and the best price per milligram.

Oil or flower?

The oil is discreet and it is not smoked. If your thing is rolling, go for the flowers or the CBD hash. We help you pick a flower in CBD Flower Buying Guide: How to Choose Yours. And if you are still on the basics, go over What Is CBD and How Is It Different From THC?.

All of it together in the CBD section.
